The next edition of NFPA 13 has completed the second draft process and the revision cycle for the 2022 edition is nearly complete. George Stanley of Wiginton Fire Protection and NFSA’s Engineering and Standards Committee Chairman, with Roland Asp, NFSA’s Manager of Codes and Standards, will detail and explain the proposed changes to the 2022 Edition of NFPA 13 including installation, discharge, residential, and hanging & bracing requirements.
Learning objectives:
- Review the proposed requirements of the 2022 edition of NFPA 13 and compare to those of the 2019 edition.
- Understand the committee’s reasons for these proposed changes.
- Apply new means and methods of NFPA 13 to assist owners, fire sprinkler contractors, and code officials with their sprinkler system designs and installation.
