Sprinkler and Standpipe Operations for the FD

Knowing the various types of fire protection systems that go into a building is the key to understanding their role in protecting property and lives. This program will take the participant through the various components of sprinkler systems and standpipes and discuss how the systems work individually and collectively to provide protection from fire in buildings. Starting with a bit of history on these systems, the course covers the type of types of fire sprinklers, fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, and associated components.

 

This program will provide fire suppression personnel with proper firefighting techniques for buildings equipped with sprinkler systems and/or standpipe systems. Success depends on multiple factors, such as the type of system and the reason for activation. This program contains up-to-date information and recommended practices for firefighting operations in these types of properties.
