1. Sprinkler Obstruction Criteria (4 hrs)
Dealing with obstructions to fire sprinklers is a basic and vital skill needed for the appropriate application of the NFPA standards that govern the installation of fire sprinklers. The varied real word obstructions encountered can at times be challenging to handle and ascertain the correct NFPA 13 obstruction rule to apply. This presentation will take the mystery out of obstructions and will review the “obstruction rules” of NFPA 13 and is a “must-know” for layout technicians, installers, AHJs and others in the industry.
2. Fire Sprinkler Hydraulic Overview (4 hrs)
Hydraulic calculations are the foundation for supplying water-based fire protection systems with the appropriate amount of water. This half-day seminar covers the procedures for hydraulic calculations in accordance with NFPA 13. The equations, principles and processes will be reviewed in detail including determination of the size and shape of the remote area, sprinklers to include and calculating flows and pressures. This program can be advantageous to those responsible for performing the hydraulic calculations as well as those who review them.
